#31 "..thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs... 400 years... and also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge.."

There are several prophecies that appear to indicate that the beginning of the third watch is about to take place.

One of these prophecies that possibly points to 2008-9 as the tipping point is given in the 15th Chapter of Genesis. Our Father Abraham was shown in vision that a remnant of his descendants would wander in a strange new promised land that belonged to another people. They would wander there for 400 hundred years in the latter days.

The New Testament informs us that from the time of the first watch until the time of the third watch “blindness in part” would be upon all Israel. This blindness refers to many things. One of them is that most of Abrahams seed that has mingled among the gentiles would not even realize they are the seed of Abraham.

The vision given to Abraham about the 400 year prophecy is briefly mentioned in both the Old Testament and the New Testament.

“And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.” Gen 15:12-14

“And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years. And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge..” Acts 7:6

These two scriptures when cross referenced with many others indicate that at the end of the 400 year period that the seed of Abraham wanders in the strange, promised land, the light would shine forth among his people who sit in darkness and the deliverer/Redeemer would come forth out of Zion:

"For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins." Romans 11:25-27

"When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. And the Redeemer shall bcome to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord." Isa 59:19

This would mark the time of the 3rd watch, when the servant of Jesus Christ would return to the vineyard for the last time as a redeemer and deliverer to give the last warning, invite the world to repent, gather out the righteous and then destroy the wicked.

I realize that bible scholars believe that Moses leading the Children of Israel out of Egypt was the fulfillment of the 400 year prophecy in Gen 15 …and I would agree that it was a fulfillment… however, I have previously pointed out, virtually all of the Old Testament prophecies have a dual fulfillment. One is a “Shadow Fulfillment” the other is a “Literal Fulfillment”.

The Children of Israel were in Egypt a total of 430 years and during that time they were in bondage less than 350 years. Hence, they could only be a shadow fulfillment of the 400 year prophecy because they don't meet the requirements exactly.

Clearly, the literal fulfillment of the prophecy is referring to a latter day event.

Consider this…. the latter day children of Abraham who are identified among the Gentiles began coming to America from England in 1607.

Upon their arrival they planted a cross in the ground and dedicated this land to Jesus Christ.

If the prophecy in Gen 15 does indeed have a latter day application to Abraham's seed in America then sometime pretty close to the 401st year the light will begin to break forth to prepare the way when the deliverer will come forth out of Zion to take the blindness off of the elect of Israel, remove their stumbling blocks and gather them into the "chambers" to prepare them against the time of tribulation that takes place as God judges the most wicked and apostate nation in the world.

We are informed that after 400 years God will Judge America.

America is the most wicked nation in the world.

Isaiah refers to America as the "hypocritical nation".

Is it a coincidence that credible sources are warning of an impending financial collapse and war approximately 400 years since God led a branch of his people among the gentiles to this land of promise?

It may be… but I don’t think it is.

The period of time we are now getting ready to enter into is also referred to as the time of Jacobs Trouble. More on that in a later post.

The beginning of the last generation spoken of by Christ in the 24th chapter of Matthew is possibly about to begin.

The four hundred year prophecy provides another witness that the Marvelous Work did not begin at the restoration of the Church... rather, a third "Watch" or dispensation will take place. One that is separate and distinct from the LDS foundation movement of the 1830's. This third dispensation or third watch is when the marvelous work resumes... building on the foundation that was laid by the Prophet Joseph Smith.
