#14 That thy church may come forth out of the wilderness of darkness"

In section 5 (given in 1829) just prior to the re-establishment of the New Testament Church of Christ on the earth, the Lord noted that the Church was in the process of coming out of the wilderness...

"And to none else will I grant this power, to receive this same testimony among this generation, in this the beginning of the rising up and the coming forth of my church out of the wilderness—clear as the moon , and fair as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners." ( D&C 5:14)

Then, in section 33 (given in Oct 1830) AFTER the church was re-established, the Lord acknowledges that his church had come out of the wilderness:

"And verily, verily, I say unto you, that this church have I established and called forth out of the wilderness." (D&C 33:5)

Finally, in section 109 (which was given in 1836, 6 years after the re-establishment of the Church) in the dedicatory Prayer for the Kirtland Temple which was given to the Prophet Joseph Smith by revelation, it is revealed that the church will need to come forth out of the wilderness again, at a later time when the kingdom that Daniel prophesied about finally rolls forth in power:

"Remember all thy church, O Lord, with all their families, and all their immediate connections, with all their sick and afflicted ones, with all the poor and meek of the earth; that the kingdom, which thou hast set up without hands, may become a great mountain and fill the whole earth; That thy church may come forth out of the wilderness of darkness, and shine forth fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners.." (D&C 109:73-4)

The three verses in modern revelation show that the church comes forth out of the wilderness in the 2nd watch in 1830, but has to come forth out of the wilderness AGAIN some time after the dedication of the Kirtland Temple in 1836!

Here is another powerful evidence that the church comes out of the wilderness AGAIN in the last days and that the Marvelous Work takes place at a future time.

The church must come out of the wilderness again as the stone (Kingdom of God) rolls forth.

This is consistent with the words of Daniel the Prophet who stated that the kingdom would first be set up, but at a later time would come forth again in power and smash the image and begin rolling forth, destroying the kingdoms of the world. (see also post #13)

[This is a classic example of how key word and key phrase searching can provide patterns and open up the scriptures so much faster than manually reading the scriptures chronologically!
