#41 "this people will.. go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land WHITHER they go.. and will forsake me, and break my covenant"

A protestant gal made a comment on evidence #40 regarding my interpretation of the following quote from the apostle Paul.

“For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.”(Rom 11 see also section 109 revealing that the LDS Elders are the sons of Jacob)

After I responded to her I realized that my response contained another evidence that the Marvelous Work was to be a future event so I have modified that response and am presenting it as evidence number 41... and to think I was only going to provide 30!

Lately I have had a few non-LDS visitors to my blog even though this content is targeted to believers of the Book of Mormon and the LDS restoration movement... I have left the marketing of this blog up to the Lord... I guess he knows what he is doing...

She felt I had misinterpreted the saying of Paul.

I am suggesting Paul is saying blindness in part is happened to ALL Israel

She is suggesting that Paul is saying blindness is happened to PART of Israel.

Here interpretation is a common one that is held by many.

Allow me to explain why I think Paul is saying that partial blindness is happened to ALL Israel.

I pointed out to her that a key word search will show that Paul was taking his information from Deuteronomy 28-31

Let me remind you that in section 103 the Lord revealed to the Latter Day Saints that WE are the Children of Israel. This should have been a very sobering realization to in any of the Saints living at the time this revelation was received that were familiar with the prophesies of Moses concerning the future of the Children of Israel in the latter days. For that matter, it should be a very sobering realization to those of us living today.

Those chapters in Deuteronomy clearly outline that the descendants of the Children of Israel would go a whoring after other gods and break the covenant whither (wherever) they go. After they totally corrupt themselves, evil will befall them in the "latter days"! That is what the Time of Jacobs Trouble is all about... and we are almost there! A total financial collapse of our fiat money and false economy and War is not far off.

I have listed a few excerpts from these chapters below but, as always, you need to dig in and read these chapters for yourself... because the Children of Israel are our ancestors and we are their literal offspring and it is very humbling and sobering that these prophesies pertain to US!

“These are the words of the covenant, which the Lord commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb. And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land; The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles: Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.” (Deut 29)

The statement in Deut 29 is what Paul was quoting!

God gives Israel a cursing and a blessing predicated on whether they would chose righteousness or wickedness… he also leaves the blindness upon them.... read the entire chapter…

Now notice the following prophecy in chapter 31

“And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land WHITHER they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them , and I will hide my face from them…”

Clearly we learn from these verses that ALL of Israel was going to go into spiritual blindness after the death of Moses. We are informed that they will do it whither [wherever] they go. The consequences are that God forsakes them and hides his face from them!

Notice also that these prophesies are directed at the whole house of Israel… not just the Jews! These promises were given to all of Israel before they split into two kingdoms.. that is how we know that this pertains to the whole house of Israel, not just the Jews.

“For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands”

We are informed by Moses that the spiritual blindness upon ALL of Israel continues into the “latter days” As you can see, the original context has to do with what happens to ALL Israel!

They (We) all go a whoring after other Gods after Moses dies and they continue in this manner wherever they go even in the latter days.

And no, the phrase "latter days" in those passages is not referring to the dark ages following the meridian apostasy, it is referring to our time!

But the good news is that eventually in the latter days Israel will repent and obey Gods voice.

For the terrestrials, it happens in a way different than you might expect... there will be pain... I don't want to go into this right now but just know that there is a tribulation coming for those who are not the elect of God and that the terrestrial portion of Gods children will all be saved after they experience great suffering and pain because they never accept the fulness of the gospel during probation and they are deceived by the craftiness of men.

Notice in chapter 30 the following prophecy about Israel in the latter days

“And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath driven thee, and shalt return unto the Lord thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and they children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul; that then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the Lord they God hath scattered thee.

Notice how important the doctrine of the literal gathering of Israel from all of the nations is. This is one of the many reasons we know that latter day Israel has not yet become clean... because we are currently in a scattered condition and have not gathered to the holy places yet.... additionally, we are told that we will obey all the commandments of the Lord... that would include consecration.

Now that you have an accurate context for Paul's words, lets go to another verse in the Old Testament that Paul was paraphrasing when he spoke about the deliverer coming out of Sion.

Notice that Isaiah was making specific reference to a specific prophetic event at a specific time when Gods people are about to be attacked in the latter days and God will send his latter day redeemer (deliverer) to save them.

Notice that he is not sent to the righteous OR to the righteous and the wicked, but he is sent to EVERYONE who he is turning from transgression. (That would be you and me, hopefully)

When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.”

So you see, Paul was clearly speaking about all of Israel because it was clearly prophesied by Moses that all of Israel would be spiritually blind after his death, wherever they gather after that and finally evil would befall them in the "latter days".

The great mystery is that despite the blindness that is on Israel as a result of the curse put on them by God, they will ALL be saved... even though many of them will go through tribulation and pain.

Let me reiterate what I said at the beginning of this post, chapters 28-31 in Deuteronomy clearly outline that the descendants of the Children of Israel would go a whoring after other gods and break the covenant whither (wherever) they go even until the time of Jacobs trouble in the last days.

After they totally corrupt themselves, evil will befall them in the "latter days"! That is what the Time of Jacobs Trouble is all about... and we are almost there!

We are witnessing the folly of the Gentiles spoken of in the D&C as our fiat currency and false economy began to disintegrate and we are led into war... but this is the sign that the servants are about to return showing forth the true fruits of the fulness of the Gospel... faith will be restored to the earth, great miracles will take place as God's servants go forth warning the inhabitants of the earth for the last time.

"And it shall come to pass that there shall be a great work in the land, even among the Gentiles, for their folly. For I am God, and mine arm is not ashortened; and I will show bmiracles, csigns, and wonders, unto all those who dbelieve on my name. And whoso shall ask it in my name in afaith, they shall bcast out cdevils; they shall heal the dsick; they shall cause the blind to receive their esight, and the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak, and the lame to walk. And the time aspeedily But awithout faith shall not anything be shown forth except bdesolations upon cBabylon, the same which has made dall nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her efornication. And there are anone that doeth good except those who are ready to breceive the fulness of my gospel, which I have sent forth unto this generation. and their abominations shall be made manifest in the eyes of all people. cometh that great things are to be shown forth unto the children of men;

The deliverer is about to show up... are you ready?
